Hands-On Health, established in 1996, is fortunate to have brought together a team of qualified and talented practitioners. Our massage therapists are from diverse backgrounds and offer a variety of techniques reflective of their training. All of our therapists are licensed in the City of Cambridge and Hands-On Health also holds an establishment license in the City of Cambridge. We also offer the services of highly experienced practitioners of Acupuncture, Chiropractic, and Cranio-Sacral therapy.

Our Massage Therapists:

* AMANDA: Amanda graduated from the Muscular Therapy Institute in February 2006. A member of Hands-On Health since that time, her work incorporates elements of Myofascial Release, trigger point therapy, craniosacral therapy. She is also skilled in therapeutic massage, prenatal massage, sports massage, and Deep-Tissue massage.

Hours: Mon. 12-4:30pm, Tues. 12-8pm, Wed. 12-8pm, Sat. (every other) 10-6pm
 

* ANDREA: Andrea has been a massage therapist for over 10 years. She was trained in Brazil, where she practiced for 7 years. She is fluent in Portuguese and speaks some Spanish. She is trained in Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Shiatsu, Reflexology, Lymphatic Drainage, Reiki, Sports Massage, Prenatal, Trigger Point therapy, and is familiar with Korean Medicine. Andrea has been at Hands-On Health since 1999.

Hours: Wed. 10-2pm

* CATHRINE: Catherine is a 2009 graduate of the Cortiva Institute. Her work is based on Swedish Massage, Deep tissue Massage, Myofascial Release, Sports Massage and Trigger Point Therapy. Catherine has experience in counseling patients in self-care techniques/tools. She also donates her time for event massages.

Hours: Saturdays: 2:15-6pm

* DANIEL: Daniel is a 2004 graduate of the Healing Touch Institute in Wakefield, MA, He joined Hands-On Health in 2006. Dan works with a whole body approach using Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Classic Swedish Massage, Deep-Tissue Massage and Reiki to help relieve the body's immediate or built up aches and pains. His work also incorporates elements of craniosacral therapy.

Hours: Wed. 3-8pm, Thurs. 3-8pm, Fri. 10-3pm

* HARIET: Hariet has been a massage therapist since 1999, after she graduated from the Utah College of Massage Therapy in Salt Lake City. Her bodywork skills include Swedish Massage, Myofascial Release, Reiki and Trigger Point Therapy. Hariet is originally from the Netherlands and is fluent in Dutch. Hariet has been at Hands On Health since March, 2000.

Hours: Mon. 4:15-8pm, Tues. 4:15-8pm, Sat. (every other) 2:15-6pm, Sun. 11-1:45pm

* HEIDI: Heidi is a grauduate of The Muscular Therapy Institute. Her work is based in Deep Tissue Muscular Therapy which she customizes for each client by adjusting the presure and incorporating Myofacial Release, Neuromuscular Therapy, Sports Massage and Breathwork. Her specialty is in relieving neck and shoulder tension and in helping clients become more aware of the connection between their minds and their bodies. 

Hours: Mon. 4:45-8pm, Sat. ( every other) 10-1:45pm, Sun. (every other) 2:15-5pm

* JOANNE: Joanne is a 2006 graduate of The Cortiva Institute formerly known as the Muscular Therapy Institute. She continues to work there as a massage technique teaching assistant. Joanne is passionate about massage and its ability to relieve tension, pain and to help promote emotional well being. She is skilled in Therapeutic Massage and incorporates Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue and relaxation techniques into her session.

Hours: Tue. 4-8pm, Wed. 10-2pm, Fri.(every other) 4-8pm, Sat.(every other) 10-6pm

* JULIE: Julie is a 2009 graduate of the Cortiva Institute in Watertown, MA. Her body work is based on Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular Therapy, Reflexology, Swedish Massage and Sports Massage. Julie has been a volunteer at the Pan MASS Challenge Event by providing table massages for participants.

Hours: Every other Saturday 2:-5pm.

* MARCIA: Marcia is from Brazil, where she received degrees in Biology and Genetics. While in the US, she studied massage therapy and is trained in Swedish massage, Deep-Tissue massage, and sports massage. Marcia is also skilled in Myofasical techniques and prenatal massage. Marcia joined our staff in 2007.

Hours: Mon. 4-8pm, Tues. 10-2pm, Wed. 4-8pm, Thurs. 10-2pm, Fri. 4-8pm, Sat. 10-1:45pm

* MOLLY: Molly is a graduate of Muccular Therapy Insitute and joined Hands-On Health in 2002. In addition to Muscular Therapy she practices Relaxation Massage, Deep Tissue and Reiki. Her work is informed by Craniosacral Therapy and her ongoing study of Structural Integration along with Hawaiian Massage. Molly is a mom and music lover.

Hours: Friday - 4-8pm (every other)

* NANCY: Nancy has been a massage therapist since 1996 and a part of Hands-On Health since 1997. She is trained in Swedish massage and Deep Tissue. She has extensive experience with sports massage, including pre- and post-event work for marathoners and other athletes. Nancy was trained at the New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics.

Hours: Thurs. 12-8pm

* PAUL: Paul is a 2005 graduate from The Rainstar University of Complementary & Alternative Medicine in Scottsdale, AZ. He is skilled in Swedish Massage, Sports Massage (including pre-event and injury rehabilitation) and Neuromuscular Therapies, as well as ANMA, a traditional Japanese deep tissue and energetic restorative therapy. Paul's work also incoporates elements of Craniosacral Therapy and Orthopedic Injury Assessment.

Hours: Sundays 11-5pm

* SIERRA: Sierra is a graduate of the Muscular Therapy Institute and joined Hands-On Health in June 2004. In addition to muscular therapy, she practices relaxation massage, Deep-Tissue massage, and sports massage. Her work is influenced by Trigger Point Therapy, Shiatsu, and Myofascial Release techniques. Sierra is fluent in German and is a former ballroom dancer and instructor.

Hours: Mon. 10-1pm, Fri. 12-8pm, Sat.(every other) 10-6pm, Sun. 11-5pm
 

Our Acupuncturist:

* Nancy Sposato: Nancy Sposato, Lic.Ac., holds a Masters degree in acupuncture, is Nationally Board certified, and also practices Chinese herbal medicine. She practices primarily Japanese-style (fewer, smaller needles, shallow insertion) acupuncture and also has a background in Shiatsu massage.

Hours: Wed. 10-2pm, Thurs. 10-2pm (or as requested)

Our Chiropractor:

* DR. SIMON: Jonathan Simon, D.C. graduated from Harvard College in 1978, NYU School of Law in 1986, and New York Chiropractic College in 1990. He began practicing as a chiropractic physician in Cambridge in 1991, and established Hands-On Health as an interdisciplinary clinic in 1996. He has an eclectic approach, applying a variety of techniques as appropriate. His emphasis is on the release of holding patterns secondary to injury, trauma, and stress. He often uses Cranio-Sacral and related myofascial techniques and emphasizes movement patterns, weight-bearing, balance, and breathing. He is a classical pianist, professional soccer referee and occasional player.

Our Reiki Practitioner:

* LINSAY: Linsay is a recent graduate of Lesley University’s Professional Counseling Psychology program with a focus on holistic health. In 2005 she was trained as a Reiki volunteer through Hartford Hospital’s Integrative Medicine department and has also been a Reiki volunteer at The Boston Living Center. She facilitates guided imagery as well as deep breathing techniques with her Reiki treatments to promote the body’s natural ability to heal. She was front desk staff and office manager of Hands-on-Health from 2006-2008. Linsay is Reiki II certified.
