Meet our staff 

Hands-On Health, established in 1996, is fortunate to have brought together a team of qualified and talented practitioners. Our massage therapists are from diverse backgrounds and offer a variety of techniques reflective of their training. All of our therapists and Hands-On Health as a clinic are licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registration for Massage Therapy. In addition we offer the services of highly experienced practitioners of Reiki & Hypnotherapy.

Our Massage Therapists:

ANDREA: Andrea has been at Hands-On Health since 1999, and a Massage Therapist for over 20 years.  She is fluent in Portuguese and speaks some Spanish.  She is trained in Deep Tissue Massage, Swedish, Reflexology, Reiki, Sports Massage, Prenatal and Trigger Point Therapy.  Andrea is also trained in Lymphatic Drainage.  This treatment promotes positive effects on one's general health.  Special rhythmic hand strokes are applied as it reduces the chance of suffering from minor colds and viruses as it assists in decreasing infection.  It is also known to be very relaxing.  Lympatic Drainage acts as anti-cellulite treatment as it profoundly helps eliminate fat deposit, can soften dimpled skin, while it improves tone and texture.

BECCA: Becca is a Cortiva graduate and trained in elements of Craniosacral Therapy from the Upledger Inst. She views each massage as a subtle, nonverbal conversation between client and practitioner. She focuses on "listening" to the body to find each individual source of tension, discomfort and pain. Becca incorporates a blend of Myofascial release ("asking"). Craniosacral Therapy "(listening") and Neuromuscular Therapy ("answering") techniques to address the areas of restriction. This blend of techniques can help to alleviate tension, assist in recovery from injury and illness, release holding patterns, increase mindful body awareness and maintain good overall health.

CRISTINE: Christine is a graduate of the Cortiva Institute of Massage Therapy in Watertown, MA. Her bodywork skills consists of Swedish Massage, Myofascial Release, Neuromuscular Therapy and Sports Massage. She has volunteered her time with runners at the Boston Marathon as well as Professional Divers at the Red Bull Cloff Diving Championships. Christine's goal for each treatment will focus on the client’s needs and restoration. With an active lifestyle of running, surfing and yoga, she understands the role of muscle recovery and maintenance and believes everyone can benefit from massage.

Hours: e/o Tuesday 4-8pm and e/o Saturday 10-6pm.

DeAnn: DeAnn graduated from MTI in 2005. Her body work skills include Sports, Deep Tissue, Swedish/Relaxation, Myofacial Release, Neuromuscular Therapy and Trigger Point Therapy. DeAnn is also a Reiki 1 practitioner and offers a combination of massage treatments designed to reduce chronic muscle tension and promote good physical health.

Hours: e/o Saturday 2:15-6pm and Tuesday 4-8pm

DIANE: Diane graduated from Cortiva/MTI in 2008 where she honed her skills in Swedish/Relaxation Massage, Neuromuscular Trigger Point Therapy and Deep Tissue Massage. She incorporates a combination of these modalities in order to individualize each massage to meet her client's specific needs. Diane's skills also include Massage Cupping and can incorporate elements of this modality into massage sessions if requested. She completed training in Oncology Massage in 2010 and works with cancer patients who have been out of treatment for one or more years. Diane became a Reiki Master in 2014 and volunteered in the Reiki Program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in 2011.  She also volunteered in the Hands On Program at Dana Farber Hospital in 2012.

HARIET:  Enter a state of deep relaxation through Hariet's meditative approach in which Swedish Massage Therapy, Myofascial Release Techniques and Reiki merge to relieve tension on all levels. Hariet graduated from UCMT in 1999 and joined Hands on Health in 2000. She received the Reiki Master Level in May of 2013.

JULIA O: Julia: Julia’s deep, calming touch uses a variety of techniques, from Swedish to Deep Tissue Massage, to effectively meet your therapeutic massage goals. Julia’s diverse background includes studio art, teaching, and a BS in nursing, all of which contribute to her passion for helping people to feel healthy, relaxed, and positive. Julia received her training from Cortiva Institute in Watertown.

JULIE S: Julie is a 2009 graduate of the Cortiva Institute in Watertown, MA. Her body work is based on Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular Therapy, Reflexology, Swedish Massage, Pregnancy Massage and Sports Massage. Julie has been a volunteer at the Pan MASS Challenge Event by providing table massages for participants.  She is currently attending the New England School of Acupuncture for a Masters in Acupuncture. 

Hours: e/o Sunday 11-5p and Wednesday 4-8

KRISTEN: Kristen is a 2007 graduate of the Muscular Therapy Institute, Cortiva – Boston, She uses a client-centered, collaborative approach to design unique treatments tailored to the individual.  Kristen incorporates Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy and Sports Massage techniques to help clients meet wellness goals including stress relief and relaxation, injury recovery and prevention, as well as pain management.

Hours: Monday 12-4pm and e/o Wednesday 10-2pm

MARY JANE: Mary Jane brings a strong working knowledge of various therapeutic massage techniques, including sports related injuries and wellness solutions. Her work is based in Deep Tissue Massage, Reflexology, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release and Prenatal Massage. Mary Jane is also trained in Oriental Bodywork and is a Reiki Master.

Hours: e/o Saturday 10-6pm, Sunday 11-6pm, e/o Tuesday 4-8pm and Friday 10-2:45pm

LORETO: Loreto is a Cortiva graduate and a recipient of the Diane L. Polseno Achievement Award. She loves to work with people of all ages to relieve long-hold pain and tension in the body. Her body strengths lie in Therapeutic Massage, employing Neuromuscular Techniques ranging from Myofascial Release, Swedish Massage, Trigger Point Release, Deep Tissue Massage and Pre-Natal Massage. Loreto is also a Reiki Master since 2012, trained in the Usui Method. She enjoys facilitating healing and relaxation in a safe and caring environment.

Hours: Monday 4-8pm, Tuesday  12-3:45pm, Wednesday 4-8pm, Thursday 4-8pm,e/o Friday 4-8pm & Saturday 10-6pm

SEAN: Sean graduated from Cortiva Institute in Watertown, MA in 2012. His body work skills include Sports Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, Swedish Massage and Injury Masage. Sean's goals are to customize each massage to fit his client's needs.

Hours: Tuesday 4-8pm and Thursday 3-8pm

SOPHIA: Sophie has been a body worker since 2004 and is a graduate of the Muscular Therapy Institute in Cambridge, MA. She has worked with clients ranging from ages 15-80 years old. Sophie also specializes in Pregnancy and Postpartum Massage. Her style of massage is integrative including, Relaxation, Deep Tissue and components of Neuromuscular Therapy along with a Reiki 1 certification. Every human being is unique and each bodywork session is individualized to meet her clients therapeutic needs.

Hours: e/o Saturday 2:15-6pm

SUSAN: Susan graduated from the professional massage therapy program at Cortiva. She tailors her approach to the client's needs, utilizing a blend of modalities and techniques which include Swedish/Relaxation, Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, Sports Massage, Prenatal Massage and more. Susan is certified in working with people with special needs and her practice extends to Medical Massage, has completed training in Oncology Massage and works with senior citizens. She is sports oriented, has a regular Bikram yoga practice and plays Ultimate Frisbee.

Hours: e/o Wednesday 10-2pm and  Thursday 10-3:45pm.

VINCENT: Vincent graduated from Cortiva Institute in 2012. His skills include Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy and Myofascial Release. Vincent is also continuing his training in Orthopedic/Medical  Massage. This system of massage borrows techniques from other bodywork disciplines such as using gliding strokes, deep friction or sustained pressure as well as assisted stretching or ‘active’ strengthening techniques. Vincent enjoys music, cooking and practicing martial arts.

Reiki Services: 

ANNETTE: Annette has been practicing Reiki since 2007. Blending the best of alternative energy healing modalities, she offers clients the ultimate in the Reiki experience with an emphasis on overall balance, wellness and relaxation for optimal healing. She is a Usui method, Magdalena, Blue Star Light, Seichim Reiki Master. Annette has her BA from Tufts U. and since 2009 has led workshops on energy healing, meditation and mindfulness through the Nonprofits, The Emergence Project and the Global Peace Wave. She is also a receptionist at Hands-On Health.

Hours: Tuesdays-11:00-2:00pm or by appointment



ELANA:  Elana Kogan is a Certified Consulting Hypnotist.  Elana is passionate about building stronger and healthier communities.  After experiencing the transformative power of hypnosis in her own life, Elana apprenticed and became certified in hypnosis and now works with clients on a variety of areas such as weight control, stress reduction, and smoking cessation.  Her greatest reward is helping clients to overcome long-standing personal challenges and take control of their health and well-being.

Elana is certified in hypnosis through the National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH), and holds a Bachelors degree from Yale University and a Masters in Education from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education. Find out more about Elana's practice at her website
